My Roaccutane Lifesavers

Welcome back to my blog! Today I want to talk about products that really helped me while I have been on Roaccutane. If you don't know Roaccutane is a drug used to treat acne which has to be prescribed by a dermatologist. I will talk about my journey to clearing my skin in another post as for now I am just going to talk about the Products that have helped me.

I have been quite luckily in that the side effects with my skin haven't been too bad, and it suffered most when it first went from being really oily to more normal/dry. I found that it would be really red and sore with most products I would use. So I stopped using most of my skincare and started using Avène Cleansing Lotion and La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Moisturiser as these were recommended on loads of websites.

The Avène Cleansing Lotion has really helped calm my skin down at the end of the day and takes away a lot of the shining redness.  This is really good as you don't even need to use water with it so is really gentle and soothing on the skin as sometimes even water can irritate the skin.

The La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Moisturiser is really good for acne prone skin in general. This moisturiser helps to moisturise oily skin that is weak and fragile due to drying treatments. Which is exactly what I needed when starting Roaccutane.  It makes my skin feels so soft and gives it the hydration it needed at the start of the treatment.

Lastly is lip balm. Roaccuate makes your lips so dry all the time which is so sad as I love wearing matte lipstick. I have gone through so many lip balms trying to find ones that actually help. One of the ones I like is Carmex It keeps my lips feeling soft. Some other ones I have used are Burts bees, blistex and cortibalm (which I think is only available on places like eBay in the UK).

These are the products I have helped my loads during this process! comment bellow and skincare suggestions that helps while on roaccutane.

  1. The La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Moisturiser sounds like a great product! I have fairly sensitive skin so I think it could be a great addition to my beauty routine x
